University of Mauritius

1971, Mauritius College of the Air (MCA) was established to support students with correspondence courses and educational broadcasts. In 1985, the MCA Act was revised to promote education through mass media and distance learning. 1994, the Division of Distance Education was created to expand MCA’s reach. Partnerships with institutions like IGNOU and the University of Mauritius were formed. The Open University of Mauritius Act was passed in 2010, elevating MCA to OU status. Today, OU leads enrollment growth, offering flexible Distance Education and E-learning programs catering to diverse learners.

Eligibility

Pass English at Cambridge School Cert/’O’ Level or equiv.
Then:

  • Pass 3 subjects at A-level and 1 at subsidiary level;
  • Pass 2 subjects at A-level and 2 at subsidiary level; or
  • Pass 3 subjects at A-level in the London General Cert Exam.
  • Or provide other acceptable qualifications.

Option 2:

  • Submit portfolio for prior learning/experience recognition.
  • Include evidence of language, numeracy, and ICT skills.
